A PDF of 60–80 pages: a day-by-day route, maps for each walk, a costed list of places to stay and eat, transport notes with real timetables, and a one-page summary to print. It works offline on a phone, tablet or e-reader.

Straight away. The download link appears on the confirmation page and arrives by email within a couple of minutes. If it has not, check spam and then write to me; I answer within three working days.

Every guide is re-checked in spring and autumn and the date of the last check is printed on page one and on the guide page here. Buyers receive each new edition free for twelve months.

Yes. If a guide is not useful to you, write within 30 days and I will refund it in full. You do not need to give a reason.

Some are. If you buy through one, the shop pays me a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only list things I have carried for at least one full trip, and I say so next to each item.

No. I pay for every bed, ticket and meal in the guides. It is the only way I can tell you when somewhere was not worth the money.

For anything personal — a wall, a card, a school project — yes, and you do not need to ask. For anything commercial, write to me first.

I do not offer one-to-one planning. I do answer short questions from guide buyers by email, usually within three working days.

Please do. Suggestions from readers decide two of the next four guides; the newsletter announces which ones before anyone else hears.
